A date for your diaries: Thundersley Rovers' 50th anniversary party will be held at Runnymede Hall on Sunday, 26th May.

It's 50 years this summer since former Chairman Keith Walker founded a new sports club for local children.

Since that initial Under 11s team was begun, thousands of local children and adults have worn the black and white stripes - many of whom we hope to see at our 50th anniversary bash.

We will be celebrating our birthday with a busy programme of events on Sunday, 26th May (which falls on the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend, so no school or work for most the next day).

The celebrations begin at Thundersley Common where we will be staging a barbeque and a five-a-side competition (for juniors and adults) in the afternoon - more details of that to follow soon.

Thereafter we move indoors to Runnymede Hall - the venue for the club's many successful social evenings in the 1980s and 1990s - for the evening's celebrations, to which we hope to lure a host of former players and managers as well as current Club members.

Whilst the afternoon's activities will be free to attend, tickets for the evening event will be available shortly. For more information, please contact info@thundersleyrovers.co.uk or keep an eye on our website for more news shortly.

Please note that the evening event will also incorporate the junior presentation ceremony.

* Do you know someone who used to play for Thundersley Rovers? If so, please let them know about the above event.
